When the news came of my award I was so surpised but happy, happy, happy. These things tend to make one more determined to work harder and improve your work. I was very sorry that I could not attend the reception as know that it is always a great event . I also would have liked to meet some of the other artists. I feel like I know a lot of them even though we have not met in person.
I picked wonderful peonies from my friend Louise's garden and a few from mine yesterday . I have set up a still life with them and worked this afternoon. They are so gorgeous and smell heavenly. I will post photos later.

Spring , May 2011

I have not been following up on my plan to keep my blog. It has been a busy spring. Spent sometime in Texas painting with my painting buddy Louise. I have been working in and out of the studio almost everyday. Have been accepted into the Women Artist of the West Show in Rockport , Texas with three pieces.
I have had three pieces accepted into the Plein Air Artists Colorado show at the Sax gallery in June.
Several more shows coming up so must paint, paint , and paint more.

I am very proud on a personel basis , as my two grandchildren are graduating this May. Leslie my lovely grandaughter from nursing school at K.U. and grandson Owen from Lawrence , Ks. High school. Two terrific people that make the whole family proud.

I hope everyone will mark their calendar and attend the Women Artist of the Midwest's 3 annual show at the Hawthorn galleries in down town Spring field Mo. First Friday, Oct 1, 2010. Reception 6pm-10pm. I am a new member to this group and will have one painting include , Intitled "Shot of Red Eye" oil on canvas.
